Class Descriptions:

Beginner's Yoga:

No experience required - this is for those of you intrigued by yoga but something has been holding you back.  Explore with instructors dedicated to introducing you to the basics - simple poses and breathing exercises to get you started.  You know you want to!

Gentle Yoga (All Levels):

This is a great class for students looking for a more gentle experience, those who are new to yoga or those who need a change of pace, yet still have the option to take it to the next level.  Incorporate breath and movement, easier and modified postures, body awareness, gentle stretching and strengthening, and relaxation. Whether you have specific physical challenges, would prefer a slower and more gentle practice, or just want the opportunity to slow down and relax, you will benefit.   Also the perfect class for students with injuries or limitations, you’ll be guided through postures in a flow style beginning with the basic poses, but allowing for more challenging poses based on your practice level.  Props are introduced encouraged to allow the body to fully achieve each pose comfortably. 

Yoga for Seniors:

We all need better balance to move freely and avoid falls.  Whether your goal is to move more confidently, prevent injury from falling or even prepare for surgery this class is for you.  Focusing on alignment, body awareness and strength this class will help your build balance and overall health.

Flow Yoga:

All levels welcome and students who wish to will be invited to take poses to the next level.  Fundamentals of poses and
breath are explored in greater depths. Postures are held longer and personal variations may emerge as
spontaneous expressions of one’s unique abilities, energy levels, knowledge and comfort.

Mindful Yoga Flow

This class allows time to slow down, move and flow with awareness.  Holding poses for 3-5 breaths helps focus on maintaining proper alignment and cultivates strength and flexibility.  This is an excellent opportunity for beginning yoga students to work on essential elements of yoga - breath, alignment and mindfulness.  It's a great opportunity for everybody to be here in the moment.

Yoga/Barre:

Yoga Barre is a mixture of Pilates, Yoga, and Ballet - a fun, upbeat group workout, usually set to motivating music.  It's afun, energetic, and will help sculpt your body into that "dancers body" that is so attractive: long, lean, and toned!  You will build muscle tone, strengthen your core, increase flexibility, correct your posture, and get sculpted into a longer, leaner, stronger you! Plus, all the strength and flexibility gained from these three exercises will help improve your performance in whatever other activities or sports you participate in--running, swimming, spinning, walking....  See more of the benefits of Yoga/Barre here.

Power Yoga (All Levels):

An energizing class which combines strength, flexibility, balance, and active flow with breath for a powerful workout. 

Hot Yoga:

A version of Power Yoga in a moderately heated room.  Warmth helps with relaxing the muscles, getting deeper in poses, detoxifying and burning calories.

Athletic Yoga/Training Fusion (Level 2-3):

This class integrates yoga with functional athletic training.  By working on core strength, endurance and forms, both your yoga practice and athletic pursuits will benefit.  This class is intermediate to advanced.

Yoga/Pilates Fusion:

Yoga/Pilates fusion or "Yogalates" combines Yoga and Pilates into one great workout!  The perfect blend of exercises from each will lengthen and strengthen your body and make you feel strong, centered, flexible and relaxed!  Practicing yoga realigns your body, tones and lengthens muscles and helps improve flexibility and balance.  Pilates focuses on building strength in the deep muscles of the abdominal region and the body's core. The yoga and Pilates combination allows people to retain the benefits of a traditional yoga class and add core strengthening moves that will slim and tone their bodies.  This fast-paced class will strengthens the core abdominal muscles while opening joints and releasing tension.   We will focus on alignment and core stabilization exercises to improve posture and reduce pain as well as flexibility training to improve range of motion and movement patterns.  Read more here.

Strengthening Yoga (All Levels):

A slower paced class designed to build strength within poses.

Core Foundation:

The foundation of yoga and ANY movement rests in the core.  Incorporating elements of pilates, yoga and other core exercises, this a short, focused class designed to both align and strengthen.

Yoga for the Joints (Yin Yoga):

Yin Yoga is a contemplative practice that utilizes muscularly relaxed poses performed on the floor that are held for 3-5+ minutes each. This approach stimulates ligament in joint spaces and connective tissue/fascia throughout by modestly creating traction or compression on joint tissue.  Yin Yoga is especially effective for heavily wrapped joints such as the hips, sacrum, low spine, and knees.  A wonderful experience for all levels.  Read more here.

Restorative Yoga:

This specialty class focuses on resetting the parasympathetic nervous system and spinal column as you move through simple, supported, calming poses with bolsters, blankets, and eye pillows.  You can expect soothing music, meditation, calming essential oil therapy, and breath practice, restoring yourself to peace and ease.
