Julie Melton: Yoga

Julie Melton(BA in Elementary Ed, Furman University; e200 RYT; 500hr Prana Flow® RYT; Power Pilates Intermediate Mat; Anjali Restorative Yoga; KidPower Yoga) is a lifelong aspiring athlete (marathon, triathlon, weightlifting and Prana Flow® Yoga).  She came to yoga as a preventive for injury in training for the Marine Corps Marathon in 2008.  Prana Flow® active vinyasa yoga quickly replaced hours of a strict running regimen--30 minutes on the mat compared to 3 hours on the trails and the same peace inside. She pursued a lifelong, sustainable method of movement by studying Prana Flow® Vinyasa,completing the Prana Flow® 500 hour certification with her teachers including Maria Garre, Shiva Rea, Andrew McAuley and others.

She teaches yoga to extend the elemental connection of breath and movement to her students.  Julie energetically coaches classes toward the art of yoga--union of breath and movement. Every individual deserves to connect to his or her truest self through moving in the foundational flow of breath. Yoga is the instant flow, synchronicity, expression of heart, mind, body connected.

When not practicing yoga, Julie practices chasing three kids, spending time with her husband of 25 years, and occasionally sleeping in.
