Vera Nicole: Yoga

Hi there! I’m Vera Nicole, and I’m a certified yoga, Pilates, and barre teacher. I love dancing and have always been very physical. When I got introduced to yoga seven years ago, I quickly saw how it could be combined with other types of fitness. I created my own fusion classes that combine elements of yoga, Pilates, and barre. Every class I teach is different – I like to keep it fresh and innovative so you’re always having fun and trying something new.

Beginners see the word “yoga” and are intimidated by it. They think “I can’t do that – I’m not flexible.” Here’s the thing: you don’t have to be flexible to do yoga, yoga makes you flexible. My classes aren’t just for experienced students—they’re for anyone who wants to build their strength, flexibility, and endurance. You don’t need any previous yoga or dance background to walk into my class, get tons out of it, and have a great time. If you aren’t comfortable with a particular movement, I’ll show you how to modify it.

My approach to yoga is more physical than meditative. I often work with athletes to help them avoid injury through greater strength and flexibility. I also love working with older adults to extend their range of motion. Many of my older students have never exercised before, so their big priorities are mobility, balance, and flexibility. Through functional yoga, I help them stay independent and capable of doing the daily activities of life. It’s exciting to see them do things they didn’t know they could do!

If you love your job, you never work a day in your life. Every time I teach a class, I get energized from the sense of community and leave refreshed. If it’s up to me, I’ll never workout alone!
